HSOV Shelter Manager, Scott Little, has asked that we let folks know that the supply of Purina (Adult) Dog Chow is getting very low if anyone would like to donate a few bags for our dogs. Mealtime is one of the highlights in the day of a shelter dog (along with walks and loving TLC) smile emoticon
The shelter staff is there from 7:30am until 5:00pm Monday through Friday and from 7:30am until 4:00pm on Saturdays and would welcome donations.

The HSOV (Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, 90 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, Ohio) is currently accepting applications for both full- and part-time positions of kennel technicians. Applicants must be compassionate about animals and have a genuine desire to work in a shelter environment. All applicants will be required to have a valid driver’s license and be at least 18-years of age.

Our shelter is getting full and the homeless animals need our help. The shelter staff is busy with everyday duties. We are in need of volunteers who are available between the hours of 10:00am and 4pm Monday through Friday to help with walking dogs. Kennel space is small and many of the large dogs need to burn off some energy, plus it is good way to exercise. Tommy goes to the vet Tuesday to have his eye removed. this little guy has endured so much and is still a really pleasant boy. Tommy is going to need a ot of love,attention and support while he goes through his recovery process. we are not sure how much the surgery is going to cost but any amount is worth it to see this sweet guy not have to suffer any longer. If you find a dog/cat, please do not assume it is a stray or that it has been abandoned. Please do not keep it or give it away until you have talked to your local police department, vets, animal shelters, groomers and neighbors. You can even mention it to your mail carrier.
