HSOV (Humane Society of the Ohio Valley) is under construction and TEMPORARY foster homes are urgently needed.
We are currently having a new roof and drain system installed and are temporarily unable to house any dogs in the area that is being repaired. The intake of dogs (and cats) increases dramatically during the spring and summer months and we are running out of room.

Humane Society of the Ohio Valley is seeking volunteers to walk dogs and spend time with cats. Human contact and time outside of the kennels reduces stress for the animals in our care and helps them be more adoptable. We have a group dog walk/cat cuddle 3 times a week. Mark your calendars for Friday, June 3rd 2016 Wiliamstown Bank will be hosting their community picnic from 6:00-8:00pm at Tomlinson Park, Williamstown, WV. Donations will benefit the HSOV and also the Williamstown Food Pantry. Thank you to Williamstown Bank for thinking of the HSOV again this year!
Humane Society of the Ohio Valley was honored to receive the Community Service Award from the Muskingum Valley Area Chamber of Commerce at their annual meeting held on May 5, 2016. A Proclamation recognizing the HSOV was also received from United States Representative Bill Johnson and a third certificate of recognition was received from Governor John R Kasich.
